Description
A reference photo is usually at the centre of my work but not always..I normally reduce my personal photos to basically a line drawing in grayscale..( minimum lines and surfaces) so it acts as a simple sketch. The exception being when I purposefully want it to be more photographic. I set my own palette as I work up the painting... I have developed a personalized way of creating visual texturing through a method I call" constructive/destructive brushwork". My objective over the last few years has been to develop a style that incorporates the look and appeal of traditional brushwork but with a natural approach to the media specific difference that digital painting offers... I love to explore the tools that are available to the modern day artist or any artist willing to take advantage of the creative potential that technology has in store for open minded creators of art. Artists that understand and agree that there can be no limitations imposed on the future of creative expression regardless of the chosen medium . I welcome digital painting as the latest newcomer to the painting category of fine art.....and yes we all know that it's not real paint......but other than that, the comparable creative process and the resultant outcome is getting darn close..... after all it's the traditional painter that has helped advance and make digital painting possible....May art creation always remain a stimulating challenge and a true expression of who we have become....

Petko...wow !! what a surprise this morning...that's a lot of work you did...very nicely I might add as I am a video producer, doing mainly corporate and marketing videos, I was impressed by your choice of music and sequence. Thank you for that excellent slide show....I assume you have uploaded the video as private viewing. The artist should have the right to decide whether or not to be on youtube.I guess some artists might object I don't know ? I appreciate your efforts very much . You are a very gifted artist. Wonderful portfolio of works....

Another beauty, Bob ... I love this one from the pure visual pleasure it provides ... but there's a little something more ... a feeling of watching this sweet, happy home as it moves through time ... there's a little of the new and a little of the old all blended together ... a little happy, a little sad ... your creative and imaginative shwooshes of grey must be the engine that drives the imagination!!!! As always, awesome!!!! F&V

Bob, I love the brushwork in this painting. I think it is wonderful how we can create utilizing modern technology. Being a "past" traditional artist, I appreciate the new mediums we have available to further develop our creativity in combination with our art skills. Art is about "creation" and what the artist "visualizes". You have mastered the techniques. Sena
