Description
this is my great niece of 7 months. She was born the same day I went in for my spinal surgery. I saw her for the first time recently . What a joy to see a liitle one so eager to learn about life... ...I pray she will hold on to her innocence for as long as she can in these difficult and challenging times...What a delight...something to celebrate !!
I created this piece in her honour and wrote the following poem...........
face full of wonder /
before my eyes you grew /
you quivered, you jiggled /
hands soft like the morning dew /
you bounced up and down /
with each new revelation /
with every unearthing
the world of creation /
may you reach on high /
where white doves fly /
and take what's been given too /
the gift of Life, the gift of Truth /
let the Way glow bright for you

What a beautiful gift of love to your great niece, Bob. Such a sweetheart! I trust that she will cherish your image of her and your lovely poem and that she will grow to love the One who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Bob Salo replied:
Thank you my friend. I too hope that she is guided that Way through her life Ann...thank you for reading the poem and understanding the true meaning of it :)) GBY

What a spectacular way to honor your grandchild. May her energy fill you with inspiration and love for many years to come. I am sure that having her born on the day you had surgery only sparked your endurance to rehabilitate even more, though it may be at a crawl, you will share a moment of learning to walk along side each other. I truly like the symbolism you added with a Dove of Hope. In a philosophical view, it is also honoring yourself in all your achievements and fortitude.
Bob Salo replied:
Thank you so much my friend. All the points and sentiments you made are right on. She is a little darling and it was so therapeutic to hold her and let her experience everything within her reach , including tugging on my beard....just one little point to be correct she is my sister inlaw's daughter's little girl which makes her my great niece I think that's right...correct me if I'm wrong but your kind words Pete add encouragement and as you have said fortitude to work towards rebuilding what I have lost through this now 8 month ordeal....I'm physically not the same but getting better everyday...thanks for being a friend :))
